Icing is a key part to keeping an athlete ready to train. Icing reduces blood flow the the injured area which helps to decrease swelling, inflammation, pain, and muscle spasm. If you are an inspiring combat athlete and are entering "the pain game" you need to get used to ice therapy. I advise 20 mins of icing, 60 mins rest, repeat.
